Interesting Perspectives in Nature

Interesting Perspectives in Nature

Interesting Perspectives in Nature, on average when I am out in nature I try to find places that might have some great landscapes opportunities to photograph and wildlife of course.

But that doesn’t always happen, somedays there just isn’t much around for scenery. That is when I look for the little things that catch my attention. Like this photo below, it was a very cloudy day and dark in the woods. But there was just a little bit of sun light coming through the clouds lighting up leaves here and there, making it appear that the leaf itself was Light.

My husband is starting to see the little things as well, not just the big picture. He took these two photos below. And with a Go Pro Camera, go pro are mostly meant for videos, but when the light is just right they can take a good photo as well.

This first photo is actually a hollowed out tree on the edge of a lake, and the flowers were growing in the bottom of the stump. So you are looking from the top of the stump down into the water.

From Sunrise to Sunset

From Sunrise to Sunset

From Sunrise to Sunset, we were at one of our favorite state parks over the weekend. A place we have been to more times than I can count. Todays post is dedicated to my husbands son, my son in my heart. We have so many memories of hiking these woods with our son, when he was just a little guy waring his camo pants and running parkour all over this park.

From Sunrise to Sunset

This picture is him, when he first got to Texas for the Air Force, he looks so young here. He had to get use to the temperature, hot and lots of beautiful white sand in some places.

And now he looks all grown up, he came home last night as he gets a little time off before his next big adventure. He is shipping off to another country for 3 years. He is excited about the journey ahead, he is prepared. His Dad taught him all about being prepared and yet to still enjoy life. He knows who he is and what he wants and most importantly he knows the Father.

As you start your journey on this day, know this, I will guide thee with the Light of Me. For I the LORD, will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. For you shall not walk alone.

I send thee out with the Light of my Strength

Lean not unto your own understanding and I shall direct thy paths.

From Sunrise to Sunset

So from sunup to sundown, we think of this young man going off on the biggest adventure of his young life. And may our Father keep him and bless him all the days of his life.

Autumn Hiking in Iowa

Autumn Hiking in Iowa

Autumn Hiking in Iowa, it is a gorgeous weekend for going on a hike in one of the beautiful state parks of Iowa. We have hiked this park so many times we know all the trails very well. But every time we still see something different.

Autumn Hiking in Iowa

From the beautiful tall pine trees nestled in among the maples and oak trees.

To gorgeous rock formations that you can walk under or over. Iowa isn’t just farm land.

The sun was shinning brightly on this cool morning of 35 degrees. I love going for walks in this type of weather.

Autumn Colors and Textures

Autumn Colors and Textures

Autumn Colors and Textures, Leaves are the primary food producing organs of a plant. They are designed to be efficient in collecting light and using that light energy to produce food.

The leaf for example has so many different parts and purposes, the large flat surface is called a Blade. It contains all the necessary parts to feed the tree or plant, sugar and water.

All these veins you see in every leaf, are designed to prevent the leaf from collapsing under its own weight. And all of the veins, help position the blade so that it is facing the light source.

If the blade was upside down, it would not work properly. They are like little solar panels producing energy. Nature is teaching again. Food and energy from the heavens.

But if you really want some interesting data, I looked up how many cells were in an average leaf. Well, being there are so many different sizes of leaves, the answer was a long one.

So I had to look up how many cells are in the human body;

According to a recent estimate published in 2013 in the “Annals of Human Biology” by an international team of researchers, it is 3.72 × 1013.

In other words: The human body consists of some 37.2 trillion cells. And each one has a purpose.

Vibrant and Subtle Colors Today

Vibrant and Subtle Colors Today

Vibrant and Subtle Colors Today, a wonderful mixture of colors on this beautiful October morning. From vibrant reds of this flower in the park.

To soft changes of the coloring of the leaves lining the banks of the river.

To Mr. Duck finally getting his feathers back in order after molting, they looked pretty shabby the last couple weeks as they waited for their new feathers to grow.

And last but never least, the red, orange and yellow leaves of Autumn

October Sunrise in a Park

October Sunrise in a Park

October Sunrise in a Park, a little mist, a little color. A wonderful way to start October. As we walked around a beautiful park, starting out early in the morning, the mist was rising off the water.

October Sunrise in a Park

An abundance color of purple all along the path. These purple daisy type flowers are every where on this walk today.

Morning Walk the Park

And of course, there are always the orange and yellow leaves hanging from the trees.

Early Morning Walk the Park

Lots of color on the forest floor

The sun starts to rise up over the trees, casting its warm glow across the calm lake waters.

By the end of the walk, the sun is peaking out from around the clouds as the clouds flow softly across the mid morning sky.

The circle of Light from me to you. Have a wonderful weekend 🙂
