Don’t Forget to Look Up

Don’t Forget to Look Up

Don’t Forget to Look Up, well I went for a walk to my favorite little lake here and they have a dock over the water and some benches to sit on. I walked up to the benches and sat down one early morning. I was enjoying the view in front of me and then I looked up and to my surprise, right above me stood this beautiful Egret bird, as quiet as it could be.

I slowly raised my camera up to photograph this bird high above me. Then it flew off, what a fun surprise this was. Sometimes I focus to much on what is right in front of me and I miss the beauty that surrounds me from above looking down at me.

To Go in Search Of

To Go in Search Of

To Go in Search Of is a synonym for looking up. Which I am doing all the time. Sometimes we get so focused on just looking a few feet in front of us or what is in our hands, we forget to look up. To go in search of the Light. It is every where, it is stunning at times to see the Light shine through objects, nature.

It gives a new perspective on what I am looking at, with the light shinning through the leaves, I see every vein, the heart beat of the leaves in front of me. With a sparkle of light at the tip of one leaf below, as if it is saying, ” Now you see me”.

What Might This Be

What Might This Be

What Might This Be, I have always been one to stop and look at everything since I was a child. Photography has made it even more fun to look at all the little things that we tend to walk right by without a second glance. How close can I get? What does this look like really close? That is what I am thinking.

What Might This Be

Now granted, there always seems to be something that makes me stop and take a second glance. On this particular day, as you might guess, the sparkles of light reflecting off the frost caught my eye right away. I love it when this happens. It can take me along time to take a walk outdoors, because He shows me daily that life is to be enjoyed, to slow down and see, really see everything around us.

What Might This Be

Even; Shingles on a Roof

But it is the Light that always stops me and enables me to take a deep breath and just smile.

What Does Your Imagination See

What Does Your Imagination See

What Does Your Imagination See, shadows are quite fun sometimes. Sometimes during the winter I don’t always have a lot to photograph except for what my imagination sees. What do you see below?

What Does Your Imagination See

I see a tree Gnome, actually there could be two faces, one at the top and the big shadow.

Actually, it is a big tree that fell over in a storm last fall and right where you see the shadow, that is where the tree broke off. Left side of the shadow is higher than the ride side. So it is an optical illusion really. 😏🤔

Something Strange in the Snow

Something Strange in the Snow

Something Strange in the Snow this morning when I went outside. I grabbed my camera and went to investigate. It is extremely cold to the touch and sparkling in the morning light, how did it get here? What is it?

Something Strange in the Snow

It appears larger than life, it begins to dissolve in the center as the sun rays reach it on this cold January morning.

Did it fall from the night sky?

Something Strange in the Snow

Nope, I left some water in the bottom of a bucket last night and it froze into this beautiful piece of ice, I picked it up and set it in the snow. I thought it looked pretty cool. Thinking outside of the box today.

Smooth as Ice Landing

Smooth as Ice Landing

Smooth as Ice Landing, I do love the sun light on the wings of this goose as it is landing in front of me. As if a spot light was shinning right on it. These kind of photos make me smile. So many layers to a birds wings, you just don’t see it unless you can stop the motion with a photograph.

Smooth as Ice Landing

Now this is almost like a perfect landing, no pre splash on the water as they glide right on top before touching the water.

Smooth as Ice Landing

I have never seen a landing like this, the shot is like a micro second before they touch the water.

This photo below is usually the shots I get after they splash into the water.

The Geese are Back on the River

The Geese are Back on the River

The Geese are Back on the River, I like watching the geese landing on water, just like the Pelicans, they use those large webbed feet to skid across the water as if they are sliding into home every time.

The Geese are Back on the River

This group was flying low and coming right at me. They swooped up just as they got close. I think it was looking right at me.

The Geese are Back on the River

This one was flying over a little ice on the water, amazing how they can just touch the water with the wing tips at times.

Now this one, I am going to guess it is a snow goose, but it may be a pet to someone. It was in a field by some grain bins. It looks a little plump for those small wings. Eating a tad to much corn maybe.

What Beautiful Animal is This

What Beautiful Animal is This

What Beautiful Animal is This, we went to a new park yesterday, it was a gorgeous sunny day. We were walking along the back side of the park and came around a corner to see this beautiful, colorful animal enjoying the sunshine with the rest of us. I have never seen one of these with little spots everywhere.

What Beautiful Animal is This

Now this animal is usually pretty plain colored, but this one just made me smile. I did not have my camera at first, so I talk to this animal and said, ” Don’t go anywhere, I am going to go get my camera, I’ll be right back. ” And it did not move until I got back. I love the fuzzy ears like a bear.

What Beautiful Animal is This

And these large wonderful soft eyes. This is the most colorful one of these I have ever seen. Now most people may not think much of this animal, but me. Well I love all animals and I used to raise these along with horses.

What Beautiful Animal is This

Yep, it is a cow. I have never seen a cow with black spots and fuzzy ears. So cute to me. She was enjoying the sunshine on this beautiful Autumn day. I took plenty of photos to remember this gorgeous animal.

What Beautiful Animal is This

I am used to seeing plain cows like the one below. I like the poke a dots more. 🙂
