Little Light on the Subjects

Little Light on the Subjects, sunlight makes a world of difference in photography. Plus in the winter when the sun does come out it can really improve ones mood. The critters and birds never seem to mind if it is cloudy or sunny though.

But today, it does seem like they are just enjoying the view and sitting in the sun.

  1. Yes, light is important and the sparrow looks close enough to touch. Of course I love the squirrel shots best of all – they look very sweet in your shots and amazingly close-up where you see his/her whiskers with the dark background.

    1. Thank you Linda, I like to see them close like that. The squirrels don’t come up to me like yours do. But they might one day, as I sit out there with them at the feeders.

      1. I think they will come up to you Sandra as they see you fill the feeders and walk away again, so they deem you “safe”. The light on their fur makes their fur really stand out.

    1. I thought of you Mr.Ohh, when I put this post together. That is why I put the squirrels at the bottom of the post. I lured you in by putting a bird photo first.😉

  2. Squirrels are so cute and sassy. We have ground squirrels. They tease the cats, but the cats do seem to catch the adults. However, Silver caught some juvenile squirrels and brought them in the house. The first I discovered when I heard a sharp chirping under the refrigerator that sounded like a smoke alarm low batter alert. I finally could see is was a squirrel and had a heck of a time getting him out from under the fridge. He wasn’t hurt. Silver catches bunnies, gophers and squirrels and carries them into the house as if they were kittens. Then I have the fun of getting them back outside.

    1. Wow, that is so interesting. My cat caught a mouse once, and wasn’t sure what to do with it. My dog loves chasing them and I think they just mess with her. They stay just out of reach of her in the trees.🙂

  4. I do love your little squirrels Sandra, we do not have a little creature like that. I was told when we were in London that chasing squirrels is the main reason why Aussie tourists get lost. We once got locked in to a Scottish Nature Reserve chasing the now endangered Red Squirrel and had to climb the fence to get out. Things we do, and can laugh at now. Loved your cute photos.

    1. What a wonderful story, amazing how we get to see so many different species of wildlife on this word press community. So much more enjoyable to see photos from real folks like yourself, than to just see them in a book. 🙂
