Who Makes the Best Splash
Who Makes the Best Splash, starting with this long necked bird. Can you guess which bird he is? He is at the bottom of the post with the catch of the day.
Funny thing is, the smaller bird above makes a big splash, this medium size bird below, (White Pelican), makes a beautiful, artistic head dive into the water.
Now, I am not positive what bird disappeared into the water on this photo below, I believe it was a diving duck. 🙂
But when you really want a big splash, just hang out with a swan during bath time.
The first photo above is the Blue Heron and he did get a nice fish after all his efforts dunking his head into the water.

Gorgeous photos!
Thank you very much Susie.
These are great photos Sandra – the Mute Swan is so large, graceful in flight, but when they splash down at the Park, you hear them on the other side … not something graceful, that’s for sure!
Thank you Linda, I hope to see the swans more. They are so pretty.
Yes they are – so regal looking Sandra.
Wonderful post and action captures, Sandra! Love the splashes and reflections!
Thank you Ellen, as you know, birds are so much fun to photograph. I truly love watching them and seeing what kind of photo we might get at the end of the day.
This was a fun one Great pics as always. Are they current? I would have thought these birds would be gone by now

Thank you Mr. Ohh. No they are not current. The blue heron was the last of my photos I took of it 3 months ago. And when I was looking at the shot with the splash, I remembered my other photos of water splashes. I like to do comparisons sometimes when a photo triggers a thought. Good thing there is a search bar so I can find these photos easier. I have lots of photos.🙂
I’ll bet. But at least you can delete the ones with squirrels and lose nothing important
lol, I forgot to tell you this. There are red squirrels up here where I am, have you heard of the animated cartoon movie called ” Open Season” it has red squirrels in it and they are an army of squirrels that attack when needed. McSquizzy is the leader. Now my husband is saying OY! when ever I talk about them. It cracks me up. 🙂 I think they are Irish squirrels. I thought of you when he says OY!.
Well Lassie, Irish squirrels taint no better than the regular kind. Don’t cha know.
🙂🤔
Really amazing! Thank you for sharing.
You are very welcome. 😊
Great photos!
Thank you, Sandra, and have a nice day.
You also Francine, thank you 😊
The stillness photo really stands out too. The reflection is beautiful, and you can almost feel the pent up energy within that stillness. It couldn’t have lasted long, but you captured it wonderfully. The swan baths must be humorous!
Thank you Mary, yes watching the swan was something else, they are such a large bird they need a large bath tub. 🙂
Awesome photos! Perfect timing with the pelican splash!
Thank you 🙂
Some great captures! Enjoy your Tuesday!
Thank you Marland, you as well. 🙂
You’re welcome
The splashes are all great but my favo is the last picture.
Thank you very much, yes, it a mysterious one 🙂
I love the “sploosh” shot with no bird. Something was there…
Yes, I thin it was a duck. 🙂
And…it “ducked!” LOL!
What a graceful dive by the Pelican! 👍👍 And the Heron walks on water! Great pictures, Sandra!🙂👍
Thank you very much Kent.😊
v.beautiful!! 🤩🤩💖
Thank you 😊
Love to see the Blue Heron… especially with a fish in his beak. 🙂 Otherwise I like the splash of the unknown bird. It would win an Olympic diving medal. 😀
That is what I wanted to say, about the Olympic diving, I did not think of it when I wrote it. I like how you think. 😊 thank you Jo.
