White Faced Ibis
White Faced Ibis – Pictures of the White-faced Ibis here at Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge—these birds are everywhere. Their rich coloration and long, curved bills make them stand out instantly from the crowd.

While the refuge doesn’t offer an easy view of a rookery, there is a cluster of trees deep in the center of the wetlands, surrounded by the drive loop.

I can see plenty of bird activity out there, but it’s just too far for capturing nesting shots.
Stay tuned for tomorrow—I’ll be sharing the Glossy Ibis. They look very similar, but when the sunlight hits them, they reveal an incredible display of iridescent color.

Beautiful shot! We just had a rare appearance of a White-faced Ibis in Maryland at Blackwater NWR, I got to see it at a very far distance, but couldn’t get any photos, it was traveling with a flock of Glossy Ibis.
They have unique coloring which is more noticeable as they take flight and that long bill – it certainly is a unique-looking bird!
Good looking bird. When we were in Florida the white ibis came right up to the table where we were dining outside. It was so cool. 🤣😎🙃
That would be so fun. These here won’t let us get to close.
Wow! Nice opportunity for photography!
Thank you Marland. I am seeing a lot of new birds on this trip we are on this year.
They are beautiful and similar to the Glossies Sandra.
One of the more colorful birds over here. 🙂
