Little Blue Heron
Little Blue Heron greeted us first thing in the morning as we walked down to the river to enjoy the sunrise. I think I have seen this one before but it was years ago. Such a beautiful color.

We headed to the Lacassine National Wildlife refuge next. One thing I do love about this park is that you get to drive all the way around it. You can take your time, get out and take pictures but always be mindful of the alligators in the water and along the roads.
On the weekends, part of this park can get busy as they do let people fish in the waterways along the roads. Once you get past the first part the back half is more quiet.

This picture below is our jeep as we stopped next to a bird look out stand, this shows how much water is around this area.

We were met by another Limpkin bird along the waterway.

Lots of beautiful flowers line the roads.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Beautiful photos. That blue heron is so beautiful. It’s first time I have seen a photo of one.
