Waterfalls and Long Exposure, this is one of my favorite waterfalls to photograph and adding some long exposure makes this place even more beautiful.
It is a bright sunny day for these photos. One has to add a Neutral Density filter on your camera so you can slow the shutter speed way down. That is what gives the water its soft appearance. Slowing the shutter speed down keeps the shutter open longer and anything moving in your photo will appear softer. It works with clouds also, I have not tried it yet, but I will.
Rivers of Living Water, Will Flow from Within. It is a wonderful time of year to stroll though the forest, it is not to hot and the mosquitos are not out yet here. I have found a couple wood ticks on me already. (video below)
The moss is heavy on the trees, with a beautiful green color that matches the surrounding forest.
Bond Falls September 2020, I have been hiking this area for years now. This is my last trip for this year. There is just something about waterfalls, especially in the middle of a forest that I just love to visit. For me, it is quite something to stop and sit for awhile near a waterfall and just watch and listen to the rushing of the water.
The water is like life, it has a beginning, we are not sure exactly where that is. It travels through many twist and turns, rocks and sand. And it is all heading somewhere, to a larger body of water where it becomes one as like the seas.
I’ve noticed that over the years, there have been patterns in the choices I have made. A pattern of thoughts and visions. Every choice I made good or bad, every twist and turn of the path of my life has led me to where I am today.
When I was younger I could not understand why I had to go through all the troubles, as many people have had to do. For me, now that I am at the young age of 59 years old. I can honestly say the pains of the past are in the past.
Life is about learning, love and laughter and helping others the best we can. Even if it is through our abilities to get through the hard times, that is what makes us who we are. I learned to let go and trust in the Light that surrounds me.
Lean not unto your own understanding and He shall direct thy paths.
Finding my purpose has been the journey, the end will just be the beginning.
Picturesque Water Falls, I have been visiting this waterfall for years now. And the pure beauty of the area never disappoints for me. This is a popular waterfall in Michigan that is usually very busy with tourist.
This waterfall has a 50 foot drop from the top to here, where I am standing to take this photo. With a wonderful trail system all around the falls and through the forest.
I am trying my hand at long exposure photography with these photos. This means putting a dark filter on the camera lens so you can slow the shutter speed down and it will give the appearance of soft flowing water over the rocks.
But on this day, it was pretty hot and humid. When I got to the bottom here, my camera lens kept fogging up from the steam coming off the water. So the trees look a bit blurry. I only took a couple of photos and had to put the camera away. This camera is not water resistant. 🙂
