What Kind of Food Is This
What Kind of Food Is This, it is one of my favorites. This is in my garden and it produced 3 of them this year. A bumper crop for me. You may not know this, I do not have a green thumb for producing food in a garden. But, I do it anyway and get a thrill out of seeing what might grow every year.
I always over plant the garden in the spring, excited to put all sorts of stuff in the earth to grow. Within a couple months little sprouts start popping out of the ground, my husband always ask, ” What is that growing?” Well, after a couple of months I forget what I even planted. So sometimes it is a surprise to me also. 🙂
It is yellow Squash, so we will be having this in a couple of days. My garden produces only one or two things at a time. And that is usually it, my mother used to can jars and jars of garden items. My sister picked up on how to do all that. I was to busy with my horses to stay in the kitchen and learn that stuff.
My Mother used to ask me, ” Do you want to help in the kitchen or go clean the manure in the barn?” Give me the pitch fork, I said; I went straight to the barn. 🙂
