Marigolds
Marigolds – marigolds symbolize purity, auspiciousness, and the divine. Their strong fragrance is believed to ward off negativity and evil spirits. Plus they are said to ward off mosquitos.
The vibrant colors of marigolds also represent the sun’s energy, signifying warmth, passion, and creativity.
I planted a lot of marigolds this year to test out the theory of keeping mosquitos away. But by the time they bloomed the mosquitos were already gone. So I can not testify that this theory is correct until next year. 🙂
This one is not a marigold, I just added it because of the color scheme and background.

Lol… I don’t like marigolds… the smell offends me. Laughing cause the pic that stunned me eas the “not a marigold”!
Lol, I know, they have quite the smell to them. But the bees sure like them.
And they’re good for all kinds of stuff… including keeping mosquitoes away.

I used to plant the orange Marigolds around plants to keep the nibblers away, the nibblers being the rabbits in the backyard. When I planted Clematis I planted them around the base until the Clematis got going and it did help. I have a lot of mosquitoes due to the bushes in the backyard … I go back there and get out as soon as possible.
Yes, they seem to work with the mosquitos so I will be planting more next year
Technically, when they were blooming there were no more mosquitoes… 😉
So maybe they do work, 🤣

I plant marigolds every year because I love the color, plus pollinators like them. An acquaintance says the petals can be used in a salve for skin conditions, but I haven’t tried making it.
