Leaving Louisiana
Leaving Louisiana and heading to Texas Next, But first we have to cross this bridge.
The Interstate 10 bridge over the Calcasieu River in Lake Charles is about 135 feet above the river at its highest point, giving large ships clearance to pass underneath.
The bridge itself is often called the Calcasieu River Bridge or the “Lake Charles I-10 Bridge.” It has a very steep rise, which is why many drivers remember it so well — especially in RVs, trucks, or during windy weather. The current bridge opened in 1952 and is planned for replacement with a lower, wider modern bridge in the coming years.

In Texas, I have finally made it to my first rookery and it is amazing.
Have a great weekend.

There’s another bridge I won’t be crossing 🤣😎🙃
I know, and I don’t think there is a ship that tall out there to have that bridge so tall. 😀
Quite the remarkable bridge indeed.
