Its the Simple Things that make me smile the most. Like this first photo, I did not have the camera prepared for this shot, but this little hummingbird showed up out of the blue and I just clicked away. Capturing a bit of light illuminating its beautiful colors.
Life can be a long bumpy road at times, but a journey worth taking, as it is a gift. The idea that any of us are here at all is worth thinking about. The true miracle of birth is something that I think about often, for I have never had children of my own. But, when you stop and remember how we are even here, that we all started from a tiny little cell.

That everything around us started from something so small, microscopic in some cases, birds, flowers.
Yet as a gift, we only have it for a short time. What we do with this gift is a journey we are all on.
So teach us to number our days,
That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.

Beautiful Sandra – every flower shot and your little hummingbird all give you cause to pause. The Tiger Lilies are out here now … I went to the volunteer garden at Memorial Park this morning to look for butterflies and was successful – they were blitzing around the orange Lantana and Coneflowers like crazy.
I have seen a few smaller butterfly this summer so far. No monarchs yet.
I was surprised to see the Monarch on Memorial Day weekend at Lake Erie Metropark. Not only was it early for a Monarch, but it was a chilly day. It is raining here before an all-day rainy/stormy ugly weather day. I am going to try to catch up in Reader until the storms roll in.

I marvel at the simple things. I take eyesight and a the wonder of your fantastic photos for granted. Simple but not really. The design of a hummingbird flying. If it was simple we could design planes to fly that way. I would pay a lot to ride in a “hummingbird” plane just for the experience. (and run on nectar). We are at the windmill stage (great picture that can set a mood by the way).
Thank you very much Gary, wouldn’t that be something. Yes, to be able to do what a tiny little bird like the hummingbird can do. They travel thousands of miles on, for the most part, sugar.
