December Brings Pink Skies

December Brings Pink Skies

December Brings Pink Skies, all day yesterday the clouds were dancing in the sky. They started out the most gorgeous pink. When you see pink sky’s in the morning this time of year, you have to get out there quickly for the pink disappears very fast.

December Brings Pink Sky's

Sunlight in December has a longer distance to travel through the sky before it reaches you. The colors that make it to your eyeballs are pinks and oranges and reds, because they are less likely to be scattered by the atmosphere. In turn, the morning sunlight fills the sky with a blaze of pinks and reds.

Mr. Ohh had a great idea yesterday. To take a picture everyday from the same spot, for a few days. To see the changes that take place during the sunrise. December is a great time to do this. I will post them after a collect some images. Thank you Mr. Ohh :).

  1. Love your sunrise photos. Soooo beautful! Looking forward to the collection of same time/same spot December pictures. Oh, and btw, the teacher in my can’t help but help you. Sky’s means “Sky is” … the apostrophe takes the place of a missing letter or two in a contraction… or it is used to show possession. In your case, you mean more than one sky. We don’t use an apostrophe to show plurals. Instead it should be “skies.” OK – teacher hat off!!!

  2. We have had wondrous skies here, too, because we’ve had clouds (not a common experience in southeastern Arizona). And miracle or miracles, we even had rain yesterday! But the sunset have been simply wonderful.

    1. They are so gorgeous this time of year. It was plain gray sky’s for almost a week and then this happened yesterday. Wonderous views. πŸ™‚

  3. These colours are absolutely magnificent Sandra. Love the idea of shooting the same scene over a period of time under different conditions.

    1. Thank you Don, yes it will be fun to try. Of course last week I had gray skys every morning, but yesterday the clouds were breaking up and was quite the work of art all day.
