White Pelicans on the Mississippi
White Pelicans on the Mississippi, well I am not any where near the Mississippi River this year and I do miss seeing these beautiful birds. Luckily I have plenty of photos to look back on when I want to take a look at these magnificent birds. So I thought I would share some of my favorites today.

It’s nice to see these beautiful birds again … I can see why you like them so much.
They are amazing to watch fly.
Beautiful captures.
Thank you 😊
Such a pleasure 🤩
Such majestic birds! Whenever you posted them in the past, it was hard to believe they were on the Mississippi River that far north. 🙂
Yes, the first time I saw them on the river, I was shocked myself. I always thought of those birds as being near an ocean. 🙂
I love the photos they are great even if they are from the past

Thank you very much Mr.Ohh, hopefully I will find some up where I am now. 😊
Did you move away from the river??
Yes, the UP of Michigan 🙂
Boy that is a big change
Yes, I grew up here so you can say I am returning to my roots. I love it here.
Well good luck to you
Your photos are so artistically captured.
They are quite lovely. I live on the Illinois side of the Mississippi and work on the Iowa side. The pelicans soar over the bridges and really are amazing.
Yes, I love watching them fly. They soar so effortlessly. 😊
Amazing post and wonderful pictures…
Thank you 😊
Beautiful Sandra!

Thanks, Sandra. Have a great day.
You also Francine, thank you 😊
I love pelicans and used to love to see dawn patrol flying the wave crests off the San Diego coast.
That would be awesome to see. I have never been out that way.
Exquisite!
Thank you very much 😊
Amazing pictures
Thank you very much 😊
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much 😊
Geat photos.
Thank you very much Jerry.
The blue of the river is amazing. Love your pictures, Sandra. Say, why does the pelican in the third picture look blue? It’s only a shadow, right?
Thank you Jo, yes it is just the shadows of the light around him. Makes it look more unique for sure. 😊
Oh they’re back, Sandra! They are back! Awesome subtle but deep colored great shot photo! 🙂👍👍 Chapter 1.
Thank you Kent, yes I sure have missed these beauties. 😊
Very nice, for me n° 4 is my favorite 🙂
Thank you very much, I love hearing that. It is hard for me to pick. 😊
Marvelous.
Thank you very much Herb.
And they say birds are the closest thing to dinosaurs. So always when I eat chicken I imagine I’m eating dino. Well, the pelicans also look the part. I wonder how they’ll taste. Obviously “tastes like chicken” would be the correct answer, no?
Wonderful photography btw.
They do look prehistoric, especially when they are flying.😊
