Trees of the South

Trees of the South, I love photographing trees, in the south the moss is what captures my eyes. Elegantly flowing from the tree branches above. Natures way of celebrating the outdoors by decorating the trees with natural tinsel.

  1. Interesting how the moss drapes like that Sandra. I am catching up on six days of posts in Reader and earlier today, another blogger’s post showed reindeer moss in the woods. I never heard of reindeer moss but it looked like this moss here in this picture. That’s a coincidence – her moss was in Connecticut.

      1. I remember seeing white birds in the trees when we were visiting Florida many years ago. That was in the Summertime. I’m guessing they were egrets, but the contrast of them and the hanging moss was very unique looking.

  2. I see these tree here in Texas where I live. So beautiful and massive the branches. I can’t understand how they don’t break… they just keep growing along the ground. I have family in Tennessee and the mossy trees and vines are like a fairy tale there. I’m not sure what it is about trees that I love so much but they really give me a sense of peace.

    1. Thank you, this moss is just beautiful especially when the sun shines on them as well. It is hard to capture that light with a camera though.

    1. Yes, I just love them. Those branches reaching out vertical seem to defy gravity. They are the most unique trees I have ever seen.
