Time to Shed Winter Coats

Time to Shed Winter Coats

Time to Shed Winter Coats, lots of shedding going on this time of year. All sorts of deer hair around the bird feeders as they are trying to reach the itchy spot with their hooves. Or rubbing up against trees. This one here is enjoying a warm day, scratching behind her ear.

Then she heard something behind her and looked up to see if anything was there.

Time to Shed Winter Coats

It was just me, she is looking at me like she is saying, ” What”

    1. It wasn’t me, I was sitting there nice and quiet with a camouflage coat on. ๐Ÿ˜Š she only thinks she saw me.

  1. I like how the deer turns her head/neck around and looks at you straight on. She is fearless of you as you, the friendly photographer and bird feeder-filler-upper, can be trusted.

    1. I like that, the bird feeder filler upper. That is so true. They are getting use to seeing me in the mornings. I was heading out to feed the birds yesterday and 4 deer were way out in the field. They saw me and came running to me. Stopped and waited for me to put some food on the ground for them. ๐Ÿ˜Š

      1. You are I are suckers for animals … that is not a bad thing in the least. I have to admit that the male and female Mallards, standing behind the wood log and peeking over the top to see if they should waddle around was cute. I imagined them on tiptoes with those orange feet. ๐Ÿ™‚ I had a fleeting thought that maybe I should get some cracked corn for them and they’ll leave the squirrels/birds’ peanuts/seeds alone then.

  2. Deers are beautiful Unfortunately, when there are too many of them (and no predators), they destroy their environment… (Quite like humans!)
Thanks, Sandra. Have a great day.

    1. That is so true Francine. They have brought back wolves to this area, I have seen their tracks but have never seen a wolf. Have a good day also.

  3. I wonder if cows shed winter coats also. I recently saw two different large cows biting something on their backs or sides. Our bugs aren’t out yet and I didn’t know such large animals were so flexible.

    1. Yes, cows shed also. They get nice and shinny in the summer as do horses. I used to have both of them when I was on the farm. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. OMG! Bambi is looking straight at you. So, so cool. One thing that will never happen to me. You’re blessed, Sandra.
