  1. You have really captured this hummingbird up close – I am so impressed by seeing what looks like sequins for feathers. Just incredible!

    1. Thank you Linda, yes they let me get really close. I think if I hold a feeder in my hands they would still land on it. I will be trying that.

        1. Just sit very still and put any thing red by you or sit by some flowers if you have some. Or of course sit right by a feeder and eventually they just ignore you, if you sit still. 😊

  2. I’ve read you in the morning & then you made my day until nowsmIlIn

  3. There are also hummingbird feeders! It is the paradise of birds in your garden.
    The photos are sublime.

    1. Yes, I have 3 feeders up and I have seen 4 hummingbirds so far. They buzz all around me also, they are so much fun to watch. 🙂

  4. Wonderful shots. Such a cute bird. I’ve had them check me out, sitting on the steps of my front porch. They are LOUD and usually scare the daylights out of me. Sound like tiny helicopters…

  5. Great photos!
One was humming around my Russian sage, between my front door and car, Fri so I froze to watch it.

  6. Took me a while to figure it out. Was looking for something wrong with their back but then it dawned on me. The bird’s name isn’t Their Back Ruby Throated Hummingbird but you wanted to convey the following:

    They’re back: Ruby Throated Hummingbird

    No?

    1. Yes, I did not think of that when I wrote it. They are back in my yard I meant, good catch on the words though. Their throats look ruby colored at times and a bit of orange color, depending on how the light hits them. 🙂

    1. Thank you, they are so amazing, I walk out to the garden and they are just hovering in mid air, their wings are going to fast, sometimes you don’t really see them, yet they are just hovering there. So much color. 🙂
