The Last Piece

The Last Piece, bird is looking intently at the other bird with a piece of food. Just willing it to drop so he can grab it.

This Jay looks like he is jumping off of a diving board into a pool to me. There is a small bowl of water on the ground I put out for the birds. That would have made a better picture if I showed that as well πŸ™‚

  1. The yellow eyes of envy ha. I suspect the one without was squawking like crazy based on their usual demeanor. Wonder if that Jay was thinking there was competition in the area after seeing its reflection in the water bowl.

  2. The Jays, beautiful to look it, but filled with a whole lot of spunkiness. Your Grackle is doing an admirable job holding on to its treat. πŸ™‚

        1. Yes, according to the web site, Bird Cast, it shows lots of them going north. It is a migratory map this bird cast site. You should look at it. It is pretty cool.

          1. I just checked it out briefly Sandra – they said on the home page 100 million birds are migrating right now. I have a Robin who sings outside my kitchen window every night around 8:30. It suddenly breaks into song for about 10 minutes and today when I got home and pulled into the driveway, a Robin had started a nest in the “elbow” of the coach light … first time this season for that.
