The King of the Hunting Birds
The King of the Hunting Birds, Time spent in nature makes me realize how little I know about the world around us. The eagle is by far my most favorite bird. They have this majestic look about them.
Their wing spans are beautiful as well as their hunting skills when out catching fish. I don’t see eagles as often as I used to. I lived along the Mississippi river for awhile which was a wonderful place to see these mighty birds.
But I am always looking for them during our travels. This young eagle here we saw when we were in Montana. It was snowing out that day, but I was able to get a couple of photos.

I’ve only seen eagles up close a couple of times and down at Dingell Park where the eagles showed up very February and March since the steel plant’s steam from the molten steel kept the water from freezing over, there were plenty of eagles to swoop down and grab fish … too bad the steel plant closed down last year, so now the only eagle I see is Luc, the injured eagle who is a permanent resident at Lake Erie Metropark.
Now these are great WOW π€£ππ
π, they are amazing birds.
I also find Eagles to be one of those species that exhibit lots of emotions from their postures making them great photographic subjects as you so perfectly point out.
Yes, and those eyes, with just the right angle and light, those eyes speak volumes.
The photo looks like an Osprey to me. I could be wrong but then again I am friends with a wild osprey that was hatched on my property… it will take meat right from my hand.
How cool that you can get that close to an Osprey. They are such beautiful birds. Check out my post for tomorrow and I will show you the difference of this particular photo here on my post of the young eagle. There are 3 things to look at that will identify between the two birds. The color of the feet, the size of the beak and the size of the body. I will crop in on the photo for you on tomorrows post. π thank you
