Teal Colored Eye Shadow
Teal Colored Eye Shadow – this is an unusual color for the eye shadow of this morning dove. I have never seen this shade before.
I have seen the blue shadow around the red eyes, this is the white winged dove below.
The ringed neck dove below has yellow eye shadow and red eyes.

Iridescence is common in bird feathers, and that might explain the teal coloration, depending on lighting when you took the photo. I don’t recall seeing this teal color around mourning dove eyes, however. Interesting!
Yes, I thought it might be the light as well. It sure is pretty though.
Next time I must take a closer look to the doves… For me they are not my favorites as the cause a lot of droppings on the cars in the street we live in.
Yes, the city doves are actually quite colorful. But do make messes. There are so many different kinds of doves. This one surprised me with this eye color.
Depending on the time of the shot most likely mating colors. The lore area on many birds change during breeding season.
That is true, I never thought of that with the morning doves.
