A Colorful Winters Day, this weekend brought out all the colorful birds on this cold cloudy day. Even when the sun does not shine, nature has a way to brighten the day right in our own backyards sometimes.
New Critters at the Feeder, This is the Evening Grosbeak, a chunky, big-billed finch, wanders widely in winter, descending on bird feeders in colorful, noisy flocks, to thrill feeder-watchers
This one here is a female, a flock of them swooped in at my feeder but by the time I got my camera only one was left. I will try and get a photo of the male because he is even more colorful.
And this gorgeous little red squirrel that came by the feeder as a light snow was falling.
