Happy Friday

Happy Friday

Happy Friday, it is the end of July already. I have two trees in my yard that have started to change color. That seems to early, but I do love the change of seasons and fall is my favorite one. I love the cooler temperatures and all the warm colors and sitting by the campfire on a cool evening. Have a wonderful weekend.

Autumn Isn’t over Yet

Autumn Isn’t over Yet

Autumn Isn’t over Yet, well in my backyard the majority of the leaves left on the tree fell in the light breeze we were having. You can hear lawn mowers running and leaf blowers around the neighborhood. The sun was just coming up and I looked out the door and a few leaves were brightly lit by the morning light on my deck. So I grabbed my camera.

Autumn Isn't over Yet

But my little dog wanted to come see what I was doing, meandering over to check out the camera.

Well then my other dog wanted to bring me a stick in front of the camera.

So I figured I might as well have her pose for a photo as the sun was getting higher in the sky.

Autumn Colors and Textures

Autumn Colors and Textures

Autumn Colors and Textures, Leaves are the primary food producing organs of a plant. They are designed to be efficient in collecting light and using that light energy to produce food.

The leaf for example has so many different parts and purposes, the large flat surface is called a Blade. It contains all the necessary parts to feed the tree or plant, sugar and water.

All these veins you see in every leaf, are designed to prevent the leaf from collapsing under its own weight. And all of the veins, help position the blade so that it is facing the light source.

If the blade was upside down, it would not work properly. They are like little solar panels producing energy. Nature is teaching again. Food and energy from the heavens.

But if you really want some interesting data, I looked up how many cells were in an average leaf. Well, being there are so many different sizes of leaves, the answer was a long one.

So I had to look up how many cells are in the human body;

According to a recent estimate published in 2013 in the “Annals of Human Biology” by an international team of researchers, it is 3.72 × 1013.

In other words: The human body consists of some 37.2 trillion cells. And each one has a purpose.
