Next Stop
Next Stop – is a small campground that we have been to before. It has been a few years. I love this campground as it only has 8 camping spots, it is small but it is close to two nature preserves south east of Lake Charles LA.

Beautiful old cyprus trees with knuckles and knees growing from the roots. Makes for very interesting landscape photos.

Louisiana Bayou, knuckles and knees.
Out in the swamp, cypress trees like to show off a bit — sending up strange, knobby “knees” from the water like they’re trying to peek around or stand up for a better view.
These odd little woody bumps are actually part of the root system, though they look more like the tree is slowly trying to climb out of the mud or spy on passing boats.
Scientists still debate their exact job, but out there they mostly just look like nature’s way of giving the swamp a few curious personalities.

Have a wonderful weekend.

What a quaint little campground! Always enjoy a good cypress scene.
These trees do look unique and help to make a very picturesque setting. I can see why it is a regular campground stop for you.
Have a great weekend!

You know it’s been a good day when your shin has a bump or two.
Yes, I like that. 🙂

Looks lovely. And how interesting about those woody stumps things.
It is so nice Liz. One of my favorite places.
