New Home Weather Vane

New Home Weather Vane

New Home Weather Vane – Is it real? Yes, this is a Great Blue Heron perched on top of a roof. He just looks like a weather vane.

New Home Weather Vane

This is a regular weather vane that spins around to tell you what direction the wind is blowing.

Technically this one will work, you could go by his crown feathers if they are blowing in the wind.

New Home Weather Vane

The only problem with a real bird for a weather vane is, when another one shows up that wants to sit on the same roof.

There goes the weather vanes. Good thing one did not have to buy them.

  1. Ha ha – I will have a similar picture to share for next Monday’s post, though not as up close. The heron makes a great weather vane!

      1. Scoping out the fish from afar no doubt. I saw a dead fish at the Park – pretty big too, so some winged creature must have dropped it and had poor eyesight and couldn’t find it again!

        1. Yes, I have heard that as well. During mating season the feathers are longer and more colorful. They sure are pretty. 🙂

  2. Before I saw your title I though “Weather Vane”. Your efforts were not in vain. Excellent photos.
