Desert Flowers

Desert Flowers

Desert Flowers – When we were in Arizona a few months ago, some of the cactus finally started to bloom. I don’t know what these are but the Gila woodpecker sure enjoyed them.

We have a bit of color starting to show up in my neck of the woods this week, I do love the month of September, for me it is usually the start of fall colors and this year it has begun. Hope everyone gets out and enjoys nature’s color wheel called Autumn.

  1. Our color burst is a still a ways off, but the temps are starting to dip (58 yesterday) but heading back up for the rest of the week – still jealous of our Gila – still a gap on my list.

    1. They are such a cool looking bird. It wad 42 here this morning. We are heading to Georgia next month and a stop over at Dauphin Island this winter at some point. We like skipping winter.

  2. Thank you for these great shots, Sandra. You have captured the essence of the plant up close. You also provoked my interest. Had to do some research to discover more.

I discovered that hummingbirds also love the flowers and are sustained by them.

Glad you’re having an autumn. Still looking forward to the end of extreme summer.

    Have a great day

    1. Thank you for the link, how interesting and I would have loved to see that hummingbird in the photo, we were there a little to early for those.
