Thank you, these are the fun photos to do, getting the birds in action.

Yes lots of fun for us to π

It is really amazing when you think about what it takes to stick a landing – wind, weather conditions, trajectory, approach speed…guessing every successful landing as an adult, probably resulted from being laughed at by its friends as a juvi when it face planted ha! Sharp shots in motion!

Yes, I love trying to capture birds taking off and landing. Especially geese landing in water, it is like a ballet at times and then you have others that just plop into the water.

Maybe that landing is a little awkward, but that pelican lands without a hitch. π

Yes, it was wobbly but he did it.

I completely relate with that pelican. Thatβs exactly what I look like when I try to park my husbandβs truckπ

Thank you, well it is mostly patience. Usually when I lift the camera up to photograph a bird they fly away, which is what this one did, so I already had him in my sight and just kept shooting. I love being out watching birds. π

Looks like a juvenile, Sandra. Is it an adult bird? Lovely shots.

They all looked like adults Don, but his landings technique may be a sign of a younger bird, working on his smooth landings.

I think it’s the most acrobatic landing I’ve ever seen π You realy got the moment !

Thank you Rudi, and sometimes I don’t see the actual landing looking through the view finder, it is when I look at the photos later and find out the camera clicked just right.

That’s a funny pictureπ, must be a bit hard to land

Yes, some glide in so perfectly, and others are a bit wobbly. π
Perfect landing requires careful planning, even the expert fails sometime!
