Bright Sunny Day Today
Bright Sunny Day Today, the sun finally came out today and what a difference it makes for photographing birds. There are plenty of gray days all winter, so it is a real treat when the sun comes out and the birds gather around the feeders.
These are all the Female Evening Grosbeak
And one Red Squirrel

The birds are beautiful – so close-up as is that squirrel you added to the end of this post for good measure. He was probably eyeing the birdseed like the deer does. π
That squirrel tries to chase everyone away. He is a feisty one.
Those squirrels think they must eat everything and they are “entitled” and everyone else should stay away. They have a lot of attitude for such small critters!
Beautiful birds and great pictures this post is almost perfect. It has one flaw and it’s spelled S-Q-U-I-R-R-E-L Unless of course the birds are plotting his demise.
Laughing is fun Try It soon

Here in Germany, the local squirrels are having a hard time. They are slowly but surely being displaced by immigrant Asian squirrels who have fewer enemies and are larger …
I have never heard of Asian Squirrels, I had to look it up. They are so strange looking and giant. Makes one wonder if they are natural or did they mix them with something else and start a new breed. There are mostly just small Red Squirrels here. Thank you for the information.
Sono molto belle le giornate grigie invernali, ma certamente quando esce il sole il cuore si rallegra…e anche la natura π
Yes, it is so nice to see the sun in winter and it warms everything right up for a little while. π
Ah, the bird I’ve been trying to add to my list for some time now – thanks for the inspiration to keep after it!
You are very welcome, yes they are so pretty. There are lots of them around here this winter.π
Beautiful photos! “Birds of a feather flock together…” The female evening grosbeak has patches of sunlight on her too. Squirrel seems to be thinking, “What? I don’t need feathers to be adorable!” Have a lovely weekend, Sandra.
Thank you Mary, a wonderful weekend to you also. π
Nice shots Sandra but the first one is my favorit.
