Bold Splash of Colors

Bold Splash of Colors

Bold Splash of Colors, well I finally have some wild flowers blooming in the yard. Yes, the dandelions are always the first flowers I see. But I can’t complain because it is nice to see the color. I had to add a couple more splashes of purple today as well.

I did buy some hanging flower baskets yesterday, so I will see what kind of photos I can get with those. The sun might come out tomorrow, but it will be below freezing again tonight. So I have to cover a couple plants outside.

  1. That kind of photography uplifts the soul. Thanks for sharing such magical skills. The second image is very vibrant. ❤️👌

  2. That’s a beautiful color combo Sandra – I have seen pansies in yellow and purple mixed together and always thing how vibrant they look together.

    1. I love seeing the yellow of the dandelions, I am going to try and make dandelion honey this week. I have seen it a couple times being done.

      1. You’ll have to do a post on that Sandra. The honey will be sweet or tang? Years ago a high school classmate’s mom made dandelion wine every year. He brought some in as he mentioned it in class and the teacher didn’t believe him, so he brought in a bottle.

            1. Yes, I watched a video of someone using the leaves for that and she dug up the roots and was going to make some kind of tea out of that.

            2. Interesting – the roots too?! Most of our dandelions are white fuzz now. At least if it stays cold, the Poplar fuzz won’t be clinging to the air conditioner grille.

            3. Yes and my grandmother hated the dandelions, she was always out there digging them up and throwing them away. Those roots go pretty deep.

            4. I am not as zealous about getting rid of dandelions as I once was … my mom thought they looked unsightly and yes, their roots are very long. Because I grumbled about digging the dandelions out, she bought me a “Weed Hound” which is a “weed eater” … you push it into the ground and it pulls out the weed, roots and all.

  3. I use the dandelions to make a homemade wine. Only yellow petals, water, sugar and yeast. And it’s done.
Your pics are great as always.👍
    Cheers from Poland 🥂

        1. Nice, I have not tried making it. I am not the best cook, mainly I don’t have patience to be indoors. 😊
