Birds and Bunnies in Soft Light

Birds and Bunnies in Soft Light

Birds and Bunnies in Soft Light, what is soft light you might ask? Well it is considered to be diffused light, which I have the best luck finding in the early morning hours of a day. But you can always use the shade of a tree or the soft shadows of any structure.

One doesn’t always have a chance to place our wildlife in the right lighting for that, so the rule of thumb, depending on where you live of course, is to not photograph between 11am and 2pm. That is usually when the sun is straight over head and it is like shinning a giant flashlight right on your subject.

Birds and Bunnies in Soft Light

So for me, early morning is my favorite time of day to photograph outdoors..

  1. That is so true Sandra I love nature and animals know to take care of there self but humans interfere with there habitats to much so it getting harder for them guys to survive

  2. Not sure there is another animal out there that manages to bring a smile to me as much as bunnies. clarification .. bunnies NOT in my yard as those I absolutely detest.. but other bunnies gives me an ear to ear grin.

  4. Sandra, you capture these wonderful creatures up close where most never see them, especially the birds. Birds are so quick and often don’t stay still for long, so it is difficult to see all their color and expressions unless through the lens of a camera. I recently saw a film about Charles Darwin, Evolution, and DNA. It was not new, from 2004. Darwin, of course, knew nothing of DNA. Scientific analysis of DNA studies prove that Darwinian evolution is false. It simply doesn’t work. Your photographs give us all an inside look deeper into the heart of Creation. We will all draw our own conclusions, of course, but it is usually the case that greater study reveals greater knowledge, heretofore unknown. The last bird picture is especially striking. Here is a tiny creature of colorful plumage that actually thinks. It is reacting. You can see his little brain working. A creature this magnificent does not just happen by chance. Thanks for your work. May the Lord bless you abundantly for it.

    1. You are so right RJ, I have found that to be true from studying birds and wild life up close for so long. Plus they each are created with a purpose, they are similar but yet they know exactly how to survive and when you learn how they migrate and the miles they put on to do so. It is amazing, it is written in their DNA. Animals can teach us so much. They have not stepped away from their nature.

    1. Thank you very much Francine, I truly appreciate seeing your wonderful comments, have a wonderful day today.
