Alligator and Turtles

Alligator and Turtles

Alligator and Turtles, here at this small lake on Dauphin Island. There are lots of turtles who seem to not mind this alligator swimming right next to them. The folks that live here mention that there is just one alligator in this lake. I don’t know a lot about them, but maybe they are territorial so he wants the lake all to himself.

I placed a video below of this beautiful animal. We were standing on a dock above him and took these photos with a video on the one day he came out of hiding from the tall grass. It has been pretty cold here lately so he doesn’t come out unless it is warm outside.

    1. The internet won’t let me open the link, I will when we are back on the road near a town. Seems to be the only place it works for downloads. They can send a man into space and still talk to them but no internet in the south. Hmmm, 😅😳

  1. I know that place, I know that pond and I even know that very gator! He didn’t get that close to the dock when we were there (diverted by that green heron)/. Always enjoy seeing additional perspectives of places I’ve had the pleasure of being at.

    1. It is fun to see that isn’t it. Yes we only saw it on 2 days, the 2 warmest days. Otherwise he was hiding in the tall grass most of the time.

  2. WOW! Impressive video. You are a brave soul – I think I would have been too nervous to be so close to Mr. Gator. And he even opened his mouth – whether he was inviting you to be lunch or just saying hello I’m not sure! 🙂
