Nature Speaks to Us

Nature Speaks to Us

Nature Speaks to Us, I spend a lot of time outdoors, sometimes just listening to the sounds of creation around me. Now I have a lot of ringing in my ears, sometimes it is really bad, but it is always there. It never really goes away. When I am outside, I get distracted very easy. I begin to notice everything from the leaves rustling in the trees, the butterflies going from flower to flower.

The sights and sounds of nature, begins to replace the ringing in my ears. For a few moments in time I can tune out the constant noise in my ears and I can feel the calmness that nature provides. I can see and hear a beautiful symphony of soft spoken words, from the sounds of birds singing and seeing the beautiful colors of the butterflies as they go by.

When I focus on all of these things, it pushes the noise away.

Nature Speaks to Us

It reminds me of this song;

I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind.
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day

    1. Thank you very much, sometimes there are different meanings to what I write. Hoping that anyone who reads them, allows the words to have a special meaning to them. I am glad it did for you Darshak. 😊

  2. These butterfly images are beautiful – is it a butterfly bush? Just perfect. I had a boss who had tinnitus and he used to walk around holding his ear shut with one finger. I don’t know if it affects both ears, but he only plugged up one ear. I’m sorry you deal with this problem …plugging one ear with a finger won’t help you much as you need both hands for most activities, especially using your camera.

    1. It is a butterfly bush, I planted it this year and it is doing well. I have noise canceling head phones that I though would help. It makes it worse because, the ringing seems louder, because I can’t hear anything but that. So having some kind of white noise makes a difference.

      1. I loved my butterfly bushes – planted three, two of them together and one in a separate spot. They were butterfly magnets and had them two years, then had the Polar Vortex and lost them all. Didn’t replant. My next-door neighbor had hers for years and she never pruned it or deadheaded it and it thrived so that gives you food for thought on climate change as I’m sure we had cold Winters before this one in 2013-2014 that killed so many of my plants. Her son took it out as it grew kind of wild looking as you know and he took it out. Didn’t know or would have asked him for it as he cut it up and threw it away. I had an AM/FM radio headset I got from Radio Shack years ago. We had a dog next door and also one on the corner and people had them out very early in the a.m. and also until 11:00 p.m.- midnight barking its head off. It had some buttons you pushed for relaxing sounds like train on a train tracks, a babbling brook, waves at a seashore. They have it at another store … maybe Sharper Image. Will look at send the link separately. It is more relaxing than a white noise machine which can zone you out sometimes.

  3. I can relate. I have prayed for you. The Lord who works wonders in the natural world can also work wonders in our lives. He cares. I always believe in solutions. All things are possible with God.

Thanks Sandra, for more great photos. The colors and clarity here are so good. Blessings to you

    1. Thank you so much RJ, I do appreciate that. He does have a way to help us even with tinnitus. When it gets really bad, He shows me His hands in creation and I can focus on it to relieve the noise. It is a constant reminder of being thankful to Him. 😊

  4. We enjoy nature also and my wife always stops what she is doing to watch butterflies. This is a great song and I haven’t heard it in awhile. When I saw the words the tune sprung into my mind. Tinnitus is awful, my son suffered from it for awhile after a car crash but I think it is less now thanks to a chiropractor friend of mine. My friend massaged my son’s neck and it apparently helped some alignment and over two weeks most of the tinnitus disappeared. It may be different for you I understand. Best wishes sincerely, David

    1. Thank you David, yes I have tried the chiropractor awhile ago. How wonderful it went away for your son. I had a tumor taken out of my head a few years ago and it seems to have gotten worse after that. If I focus on it it could be depressing, photography has really helped, it is my distraction that keeps me focused on other things. Have a wonderful weekend David.

    1. Thank you very much Susan, it is a hard thing to deal with, if we don’t find distractions the noise can be so deafening at times. I have looked up every thing to see if there is a cure and so far I have found nothing.

  5. I am glad to read that nature provides you calm and quietness!
I do not know how I would handle a situation like this – well I guess that one adapts and learns to live with this handicap, even if it is annoying and disruptive!
Take care and I wish you many, many quiet moments out in the nature!

    1. Thank you very much, yes I have had it for many years. Somedays are worse than others. But distractions are the best way to not hear it. One does learn to adapt. I appreciate your kind words. 🙂

  7. Beautiful pics and words Sandra. I suffer from also tinnitus, so I can commiserate with you, and yes getting into nature is best for it, I actually find in the quietest wildest peopleless places I do not hear it because I am just enjoying the solitude of no people or engine noises, just the sounds of birds and crickets.

    1. Yes, me to. Amazing how that helps. Sometimes when we are outdoors, hiking or even just in the yard, my husband will randomly ask how the ringing in my ears is doing and then I hear it again. It is always there, but you know, we can tune it out for a bit, but does not take much to be reminded of it. It is a horrible thing at times, I have never known anyone else who has it.
