Working Mills and Covered Bridges

Working Mills and Covered Bridges

Working Mills and Covered Bridges, if you are ever near Rockville Indiana, make sure to drive around and see some of their covered bridges. They do give out maps to find them all as well. Plus some of the areas have fall festivals like this place in the photo here.

They have a campground in the back, lots of things to do. We were there during the off season. So it was like a ghost town. But the mill in the photo is an working mill.

The man who owns it showed us around, they mill their own flours and such. We told them what we do with photography and he asked if we would take an aerial photo of his mill.

So we took the one below and gave it to him.

  1. That’s a large mill and I’m sure the owner appreciated the aerial shots that you captured for him Sandra. The red stands out in the early Spring pictures as does that Redbud branch. 🙂

  2. Thanks Sandra. These are great. I’m sure the man was pleased with the photos. I’m really impressed with that building. Those guys did an excellent job with the foundation. There must have been many floods it has survived over the years. If I am seeing this right it was rebuilt 155 years ago and the mill began over 200 years ago. Imagine the history this business has seen. In 1823 James Monroe was President, only #5. Adams (#2), Jefferson (#3), and Madison (#4) were still alive.
