Winter Fun With a Partridge
Winter Fun With a Partridge, I finally got some video of the illusive bird called the partridge. I have been trying to get a photo of it, but they fly away the minute it sees me. So I put the video camera by the bird seed and got a quick look at this beautiful bird.
He puffs himself up trying to look all big and bad and then runs off.
Plus some fun winter photos to end the week with.

Have a Great Weekend

Beautiful blog
Thank you 🙂
That’s my first time to see a partridge thanks to you Sandra … that’s amazing how he puffs himself up like that and continues to eat seed at the same time like the King. 🙂 The Winter scenes are beautiful too – the photos are stunning with the snow on the branches.
Thank you Linda, they are a pretty bird. So many shades of brown.
Yes, I had no idea how a partridge looked – I’ve only heard the Christmas song, but never saw one. He was plump!
What a lovely video..
Thank you very much Lisa.😊
Such a beauty❤️
They really are Jackie.😊
It’s so good to see these beautiful creatures with this beautiful sceneries in the background … 😍
Thank you very much, they sure brighten up a winters day.😊
Oh wow! Can I order the second one as my 2021 Christmas card?
😊 Thank you Michele, I might try to make a calendar one of these days.
Lovely idea. Blank cards would be nice too, for people like me who still send cards. 😀
I do put most of my photos on a site called Fine Art America, and it has blank cards available.. I have not put this photo on there yet, but I will and I will send you the link when I get on the computer. I am typing to you now on my phone and I do not have the link here. Thank you Michele.
How wonderful, Sandra. Thank you!
Hello Michelle, my word press doesn’t seem to be working today, but I was able to get back to you in comments here. The website for my photos is; https://28-sandra-johnson.pixels.com/. You can click on any photo and a list of items will appear on the right side. Fine Art America does a real good job at making their merchandise. I appreciate your asking and feel free to just browse if you like. Have a wonderful weekend.
Outstanding, thank you. I just bookmarked the page and will browse over the coming days. I love how your photos are organized into collections. You are most welcome – thank you for getting back to me. I understand about things not working… I had a hard computer crash last week after a Dell tech attempted to update Windows. Crash landing – everything gone. Thank goodness for the cloud and external hard drives. Best of luck. Happy weekending!
Amazing beautiful place
Thank you very much Seraja. 😊
😘🥰
wow!!!
Thank you very much. 😊
I’m not fat, I’m just warding off predators!!
I never thought about the fact that I’ve never seen a real partridge. Are they related to quail?
I know, he puffs up to look all bad, and then runs off. They are cute, I believe they are in the same family as quail.
Great winter shots and I love the puffing partridge. A hint, If you want more partridge picks get a pear tree. I understand they love to hang out in pear trees. Especially around Christmas time.
Lol, makes you wonder who came up with that thought. 😂
Delightful! What a great idea to set up your camera at the bird feeder. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the puffing partridge’s debut video and waddley exit off the bird seed stage. Hoping there will be more to come.
Thank you Beth, yes he is coming out of of the woods more often so I will be setting up the camera again. Have a wonderful weekend. 😊
The second image here is stunning !!!!
Thank you very much Ted.😊
Sandra, maybe if you planted a pear tree you could gat a shot of a Partridge in a pear tree.
That would be so cool, except pear trees don’t grow this far north I don’t think. But I might try one anyway, don’t know until I try.😊
Lovely, Sandra! Congrats on that partridge ‘capture’ and have a wonderful weekend yourself!
Thank you Mary, you to.
These winter scenes are among the best I’ve seen. Excellent work. Thank you for sharing. And a real live partridge. The whole bird world congregates at Sandra’s house. Blessings
Thank you very much RJ, I really appreciate that. I do love seeing so many different birds.😊
Interesting. When living in NW Ontario, they seemed quite tame!
They spook so easy here, but I will get a photo of one eventually.😊 Have a wonderful weekend Marland.
Thanks, heaps, and the same to you! It should be a great weekend! Meeting with some fellows for breakfast, then attending a carving club, and then church on Sunday, and an evening gathering with a small group! Stay warm!
That sounds wonderful. I was snow plowing all morning. We got about 6 inches of snow yesterday, so I am worn out now. Bit it is a winter wonderland again today. 😊
Wow. That sounds like work. Take care.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Gorgeous pictures. I was thinking that your partridge reminded me of the quails I saw in California. When I looked it up, I found they were part of the same family so I could see the family resemblance. 🙂
Yes, and another bird they call a grouse is in the same family and looks similar. 🙂
Guess this bird family has nothing to grouse about then–they even have the opening line in the 12 Days of Christmas. 🙂
Yes, pretty popular bird.😊
Great photos. I loved the video, this bird is so hard to see…
Thank you, Sandra, have a nice day.
Yes, I have yet to get a photo of him. 🙂 have a great day Francine and weekend.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Thanks Gerry, you to.
Pretty Hazel Grouse , thank you for the vidéo .
