What Will You do in 2022

What Will You do in 2022, the world is an amazing place. What is your passion, mine is exploring the great outdoors. My grandfather inspired me to want to be outside all the time. He was an outdoors man. Back in the day when he had to hunt and fish to feed our family. I just always wanted to be with him no matter what he was doing.

So I am still like that today, indoors is just no fun. Fresh air and sunshine is very good medicine to take every day. I mentioned that we are skipping winter this year and this is what we are traveling in. A 28′ RV and we pull our jeep behind it so we can go exploring when we are parked somewhere. You can see my little dog in the window if you look close. Her favorite place to be when the sun comes shinning in.

We love trying to take the roads less traveled and there are plenty of them out there. Below is just one of the campgrounds we have stayed at. I look for the smaller ones when we can, they are cheaper and less crowded at times.

For me this is all created for us to enjoy and take care of. One does not always have to travel to see it, there is also beauty in our own backyards.

I made thee; go forth, a season to·to-give-birth-of

and·you, be-fruitful-you, and·increase-you, roam-you, in·the·earth

  1. That is the way to go and you are seeing the world and escaping the brunt of Winter. You are very lucky to have chosen this path at this time in your life Sandra.

  2. Sounds like we enjoy similar things Sandra – although you have us by 5 feet on the RV front (Class B Pleasureway – we prefer the nimbleness when exploring). I am staring down a likely surgery soon that will keep me down for a bit (some of my outdoor hobbies take their toll on the body), but I’ll be back running the trails and exploring the great outdoors the second the doctors let me! Glad to hear you will be continuing your outdoor explorations as that hopefully means we get to read more of your adventures.

    1. Traveling this way is the best. We are not much for staying in hotels. We have had a few rv over the years. It takes awhile to find the right fit. We had a small 25 ft class c before this one. But that was to small, husband was cramped while driving. We found this one and it is just right. At 28 ft we can still get into a lot of parks especially heading west. We are making our way to Big Ben National Park Tx.

      1. It does get a little tight (especially with 3 dogs now). Safe travels, have not had the opportunity to get to that park yet.

    2. The class b’s are so nice, we have 2 dogs and a cat with us, so a little more room is nice. I wish you a speedy recovery after your surgery also, hopefully you will be up and running for spring.

      1. I can definitely understand that, especially for extended trips. Most of our time is spent exploring so we usually only need it for sleeping and getting from one place to another so it works out great for us. Thanks for the well wishes, one of the reasons we have to get back is for my consultation to see how bad the injury is and how invasive the surgery is going to be. My sports doctor is guesstimating a loss of an ultra race season, but I tend to heal fast (Linda is usually forcing me to let things heal ha). Unfortunately it takes a hundreds of miles to get back to race condition — was hoping to get it done end of race season last year to give me more time to heal, but Covid caused everything to be canceled that wasn’t life imperative.

  3. Many years ago, my ex-Marine and I traveled all over the Southwest and flyover country. We were in an extended Ford panel van. It had a queen-sized bed in it, storage for clothes and lots of room. That was such a wonderful time…exploring. We grabbed showers in really nice truck stops. I would love to do that, again. I wish I could afford a nice RV.

Growing up on my maternal grandparents’ farm, fresh air and sunshine is, indeed, excellent medicine.

    1. Those vans are a great way to travel also. You can go to more places with those. My husband has an old van that he fixed up to camp in. We have used it on short trips a couple of times. There are a lot of people living in those vans they make them so nice now. 😊

  4. Interesting! Thanks for sharing. I always enjoyed walks with my grandfather out in the fields and woods. We are heading to Florida this week. I am glad you can avoid the Winter this year. Looking forward to your posts!

  5. I bought a job lot of vintage cameras. Each month I’m going to try and ‘restore’ (clean and polish mostly) one and run a roll of film through it.

    1. That sounds so fun Keith, the old cameras are making a comeback. My husband did photography back in the film days and had some of the older cameras. He always says photography was so different back then. When using film, you had to get the shot right the first time, not like now a days with digital cameras where you can take 1000’s of photos at a time.

  6. I am enjoying my walks with a dog.
Furtheron I am plannjng to keep on breathing.

    So nothing special.

    Have fun with your travelling.

    Kind regards,

  7. You guys are liv’in the dream as we say here. How wonderful to be free to tour as you are. There are so many health benefits to walking in nature and birding, as I have highlighted in my website pages.

    1. Thank you, yes that is what I love about birding, one can spend hours outside looking for them and so many benefits to being out there. 😊
