Unique Semi Truck
Unique Semi Truck – You all may know that I mostly take photos of nature, animals, wildlife. But, on occasion I see something like this that catches my attention. Modern marvels in engineering and building. Plus I drove a semi for a couple of years and there are some pretty cool looking tractor trailers out there.
We were driving down the interstate and husbands says to me, ” Look what is about to pass us”. This beautiful truck rolled on by. But I did not get the best look because it was passing us. Well I watched it disappear up ahead and a rest stop was coming up, so I said lets pull over because the dogs needed to get out.
And what do I see but this truck parked at the rest stop, so I had to take a couple of photos.

Yes I did, for a couple of years. Mine did not look as cool as this one. It was something I always wanted to learn how to drive, so I went to school and became a driver. It was fun and I crossed the US a couple of times in one, but as a new driver I was getting a lot of the night runs and after awhile, I just knew I did not want to drive at night for years so I switched companies and drove a smaller truck for awhile. 🙂
Wow, this really is a world apart, the truck drivers and their tractors are really unique in the world. Beautiful photos Sandra and I would love to go for a ride with such a ‘beast’.
There is just something about being in one of these trucks, sitting up so high, like you are sitting in front of the biggest tv screen, your front window, getting to see the country side and make a living. 🙂

I used to drive professionally, but usually Macks and Freightliners, nothing as nice as this
I worked for US Express, the Red trucks. I love the look of these when they fix them up. Truck shows are fun to go to.
Yes they are! I used to go with my grandfather to a few of them and it was a good time. He knew all the older makes like Brockway, Diamond Reo, and others. He liked riding around in my 1984 Dodge Ram with the slant six. That’s cool that you drove for US Express. I think they were the first company to offer automatic trucks to their drivers?
Yes they were, I had always wanted to learn how to drive one and when I heard they had automatics I signed up. Even though I was driving dump trucks before, semi was the next step up. I loved it.
The crazy thing is that I can double clutch like a madman but I can’t get the timing down for regular standard shift vehicles. It’s kind of like dancing one way and then having to skip a bunch of steps
