It amazes me how much more different the brown-headed act and sound than the reds and whites. I have not had as much time with the Pygmy beyond my two brief encounters with them. The browns sound like squeak toys and hang high in the evergreens. I always appreciate a good Chickadee encounter..and also a good clue as to where to look when the migrating Warblers come through.

I’ve never seen the red-breasted nuthatch, just the white-breasted one. I like how they come down the trees head first. 🙂 I love chickadees – cutest birds ever!
