The Laughing Gulls
The Laughing Gulls, a very befitting name for these boisterous birds. They really do sound like they are laughing. They banded one of these gulls and it lived to be 22 years old. There is a video of these birds laughing away below or link here; Laughing Gulls

You probably saw a lot of these on Dauphin – a bit boisterous and tend to give me a complex as they are always laughing at me ha. Great shots.
Yes, my husband says that about them when we are fishing and if he is not catching anything he says they are laughing at him. 😅
They certainly look raucous!
Yes, they are such fun birds to watch on the beach. Always on the move.
They have a raucous laugh like they are cracking up over a joke. I’ve never seen these gulls – they are different with the dark heads.
Yes, my first time seeing them as well. 😊
I’ve never seen these birds, but it made me smile thinking about them laughing. Happy Easter!
Happy Easter to you as well Kellye.

Have a great weekend, Sandra !
You crack me up. I had a gully laugh. Blessed Good Friday 🙏
Lol, me to. Have a wonderful weekend Gerry. 😊
Laughing or screaming ???
Kind regards,
That is the question 😊
Yeah, I am aware of the sounds they make. I wake up almost everyday during summer with this, it could be seen as a sign to be more jolly? It’s a gift from above, regardless 😀.
Thank you for posting! ❤️
You are very welcome, yes I only hear them when I am down south. Very loud for sure. 😊
Yes, they are! But we love them either way 😊.
I like it when they all stop at once it seems and then as I stand there watching them. Just one starts and then they all begin again on cue like a choir. 🙂
Hihi, they can be amusing.
I remember at one time, during the trip in Bulgaria, I saw one seagull stealing a doughnut from a little girl.
They can be real tricksters too 😂.
Yes, I have seen similar. One must hide your food when they are around.
I agree. Good points here! 🙂
❤️🐦
Thank you very much 😊
They really do look like they are laughing Sandra, a bit like our Laughing Kookaburra 🙂
I think so also, I love watching them when they are all perched on the rocks by the water like this. 🙂
