The Day We Left Nature Behind

The Day We Left Nature Behind

The Day We Left Nature Behind, I came across an interesting discussion the other day that speaks of the indoor generation. How times have changed.

The indoor generation; a generations that spends 90% of its life indoors. It started the day nature was left behind.

We filled our homes with all the stuff we wanted, they become places we don’t want to leave.

Artificial light replaced daylight. Homes are built so tight nothing can escape.

We closed ourselves in to the point nothing can get out.

The Day We Left Nature Behind

The air turned bad and we use chemicals to try and stop the bad stuff.

We do all this to make the darkness bearable.

Let there be Light

  1. Was just commenting on Vic’s site that while we were in Vegas every young person we saw walking around had their noses buried in their phones – a shame as they are missing all that nature has to offer.

    1. I see that as well, their brains are being molded into having to see comments and likes, where they can’t seem to function without it. So sad.

  2. Never leaving it behind!
Headed out on my own wander adventure in about ten days. I’m almost done converting my Toyota RAV into a mini RV!

    1. How nice Emilie, you will have so much fun. It is nice to travel in something you can stay in as well. So many places to see.

        1. We are travelling this winter also. We are in Georgia right now slowly heading west but back north around May.

  3. Very true Sandra and I have often thought that the invention of the smartphone has changed us for the worse, not for the better. We were better off before, but that is my thinking and people would be quick to blast me for saying that.

  4. What a sad statistic. Our neighbor who has children slightly younger than ours once commented how much he appreciated how much our kids played outside as it inspired his kids to leave their tv and devices and go outside as well. Nature offers a world of imagination and possibilities.

    1. Yes Beth, the generations have changed so much. So many children are missing out on a lot of fun and adventures like we had when we were young.

  5. Love your poem Sandra, so true that we are isolating ourselves from the very fabric of health and life itself

    1. Thank you, yes the world was created for us to enjoy the outdoors with all the colors, flowers, smells. There is a reason it is made the way it is. 🙂
