Sydney Lanier Bridge
Sydney Lanier Bridge – the longest bridge in Georgia. We crossed this bridge heading to Jykell Island.
Its outstretched arms linking Brunswick to the rest of the Golden Isles, the Sidney Lanier Bridge soars over the Brunswick River. This, the longest-spanning bridge in Georgia, stretches 7,779 feet across and reaches 480 feet at its highest point. The sleek design creates a sense of lightness that belies the 95,283 cubic yards of concrete and 14,810,095 pounds of reinforcing steel used to construct the massive structure.

Really cool bridge, reminds me of the one down in Alton, IL
I do like bridges, the older ones are the best.
That’s quite a bridge – I wouldn’t want to change my mind about crossing it halfway across. 🙂
Yes, one has to keep going 🙂
beautiful
Thank you very much 😊
Cool but I’m not driving on it 🤣🙃😎
It was a long bridge for sure. 😊
Reminds me of our Anzac Bridge in our Sydney city.
Wow, that’s a huge bridge. Lovely photos!
Thank you very much Diana. 😊

Thank you very much Francine 😊 ☺️
The bridge between the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles was recently replaced with this style. But, lacking the long ramps on each side, it’s not nearly as pretty as this one.
Yes, this one sure looks pretty when the sun light hits it just right. 🙂
Even from a distance, our 2 back-to-back port bridges, I still prefer the Vincent Thomas bridge. But it’s much larger and every time I drive it, I fear driving off it and plunging into the port…probably because the speed limit is… 45?… and traffic is usually doing 70+.
Yes, others always seem to not mind going faster on those bridges. I don’t like that at all.
A nice bridge, I can imagine that photographers love the architecture.
This is a nice one for sure. Only when the sun is just right or you can’t see the cables. 🙂
elegant construction
