Yes, I wished I’d seen that Robin fledge, but when I saw him on the side of the nest that morning, I knew it was time. Marge next door had a mourning dove lay two eggs in a decorative wire basket on her deck. One of the eggs was literally taken out of the nest by the parents, so they must have known it would not survive. She would watch all the “action” at her kitchen door wall and sent me pictures every day. She watched the baby learning to fly and hated to see one day the whole family was gone.

It is so fun to watch them fledge, I hate to see them go.
