Singing a Song
Singing a Song as they are walking along. These Sandhill cranes were very vocal this morning. A short video below showing them strolling through the meadow singing.
Have a great weekend. π

We have some sandhill cranes nesting near our house with some woods in between. They can be very noisy neighbors when disturbed. with all our wildlife, they seem disturbed a lot. An amazing bird that takes no guff from anything or anybody
Yes, I can hear them so well in the early mornings, but they can be very far away. I would like to get a photo of them flying. Hardly ever see that.
Amazing pictures of this birds!
I know, they are such large birds also. Probably easier to walk around then to fly.
Don’t they get winded if they walk and talk at the same people, or is that just people? π I like the video, that rattling noise they make at least alerts you they are nearby so you can grab the camera, just as you did here.
They certainly make their presence known when they are around…unmistakable gutteral calls.
Yes, and it always seems to echo in the mornings when they call.
Wow! Beautiful images!
Thank you very much π
Thereβs some serious nature going in in your world, Sandra. Singing cranes, deer, and even the occasional bears. You are blessed with a lot of Godβs creatures in their natural environment most never seeβan endless supply of subject matter. Great captures. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend
I sure do enjoy seeing what might pass by. I hope you have a wonderful weekend as well RJ. Thank you .
Great photos. Those cranes are getting a lot of iron and other minerals to have so much rust on their feathers.
Yes, lots of iron in this part of the country. I love their red crest, very vibrant this time of year.
Certainly strutting their stuff, weren’t they?
Yes, they were doing a lot of singing and just walking about. π
Beautiful photos of the cranes. Do not know the place as in UK but others have linked Sandholes to my Bird Place posts. Please do as these are great photos.
Thank you π
