Rhythmic Sounds of Steam Engine
Rhythmic Sounds of Steam Engine, video below. The steam locomotives have a rhythmic sound as they sit idling at a station as this one does below, the #81 in Ely Nevada. I marvel at the engineering of such things as this.
You can see the video by visiting my home page. The videos don’t show up in reader just to let you know.

I like the up-close photo of the steam engine and the video helps us hear the sound through you.
It was such a beautiful locomotive, I do love hearing the steam whistles as well.
A fellow blogger lost her husband this year. He and her grandson spent a lot of time at a place in Tennessee where they work on model trains, but those trains were big enough that they could ride around on them. He loved all trains – he would have enjoyed this post.
Coincidentally, I just finished a jigsaw puzzle of a steam engine train. It was so much fun to imagine the sound and hear the steam hissing at a mountain depot. π
They are such an iconic part of history. The architecture alone is quite amazing and they are pretty I think π
And you’re so right that it’s a more enjoyable experience to see directly on your website and listen to the engine’s rhythm and sounds on your YouTube channel. Pure poetry. π
Thank you Mary. I like creating videos as well when I can. Brings the photos to life.

Ah, yes. The messed up videopress. The WP happiness engineers have thoroughly jacked that up. I have videos stuck as echoes in my Reader (in a browser). The phone app is programmed differently. Sometimes it works on the phone & sometimes, not.
I ended up creating a YouTube account and embedding my videos. YT seems universal on the browser reader & the phone reader.
BitChute & Rumble render well in the browser reader, if you have the iframe plugin capabilities. And, at one time, they rendered in the phone reader, too but…not anymore.
WP needs to hire people that know what they are doing. Their former “Pro Plan” and server migration messed up a lot of uploaded videos as they changed from “wpvideo” to “videopress”, breaking links all over the place. Pro Plan disappeared pretty quickly.
The only steam engine I have ever been around was at Tweetsie Railroad in our mountains…and I was just a small thing back then.
I have a you tube account also and sometimes I take them right from there. I always visit people’s sites in word press instead of just reader. But I guess some like to use reader itself.
The reader makes it easier to comment & like…both versions.

Thank you very much Francine ππ
Nice blog π
Thank you Pratik π

One of the saddest things we did here in the USA was to replace thousands of miles of railroad track with highways. Now we wish we had the tracks back!
Yes, I agree. In the UP of Michigan most all the tracks are gone and made into trails for 4 wheelers.
Yes, itβs a shame!
Great, steam engines were powerful and now forgotten. I hope engine builders will bring it back.
They are a piece of art work I think and the sounds they make when running is pure music to me because of the engineering it took to make. π
The music is likable, the many of it’s manufacturers are dead, or very old. But there technology can still be applied this days. But as it stands now, quality, and durability isn’t a problem. People will rather keep this amazing art of technology to the museums.
So true Peter. There is a steam locomotive out west named Big Boy 4014, I would love to see that one day.
