Reflection Photography

Reflection Photography – The best time for reflections is usually in the early hours of the day or in the evening. The mist and the colored clouds of the sunset are a great subject.

Or with an overcast sky, the reflection can help to make an otherwise boring sky interesting.

Horizontal lines make for great reflection photos of tree lines along a lake, but don’t forget to get that wide angle lens out especially on a river where you can capture the bank on both sides of the water. Gives your photo a wonderful sense of depth.

    1. Yes, I have tried what you suggestions plus just using the video plug in, the you tube plug in, the you tube wizard plug in, none of them seem to work. Maybe it is that block editing that I have. I will do more research today. We were traveling so I could not get to my computer. 😊

      1. Perhaps the block editor system does not recognize the simple YouTube links that work in the Classic Editor.

I am typing on my phone, at the moment, in Jetpack. I see that you have the simple short link but, it did not render at all. Gotta be a block issue…🤔

    2. I was just doing some research, reader only shows the code for my videos uploaded from You Tube, now if I put a video on that is not on another platform, then it works.

        1. Yes, example. I creat a video and save it on my computer after converting it to a manageable size. Usually I upload it to You Tube next. So I have been taking my You Yube converted video and adding it to WordPress, it is already converted this way and goes on instantly. So today I put that same video I have saved in my personal folder and just added it right to a block. WordPress then uploads it, which takes awhile. But this way it is not embedded. It will go on tomorrow, will see how it works. I quit doing it that way a long time ago because WordPress only allowed videos that were very small so the quality was bad. This time it took it. Maybe they changed something.

          1. I have uploaded videos directly to WP, too. I have just never used the blocks. Years ago, it was tagged as [wpvideo]. Now, it is tagged [videopress] and it doesn’t convert some video types like it used to. I gave up doing uploads, particularly after I was on the “Pro Plan”, that is gone now. That plan really messed up my blog.

    3. I am adding a video to a post now, just added it right onto a block, takes longer to upload, but I will see how that goes. 🙂

    1. Yes, I was surprised how that looked. It was so overcast. I thought the photos would be kind of blah. But they looked pretty cool.

  1. Very good case for not using the 1/3 rule for photos. I especially like them when you could reverse the photo and have a hard time telling which direction is really up. That blue bridge with the white towers looks familiar, Upstate NY someplace?

    1. Yes, I use the 1/3 most.of the time, but I do like horizontal lines as well. That blue bridge is in Houghton, Upper Penisula Mi
