Red Shouldered Hawk
Red Shouldered Hawk, I finally photographed a hawk. Well, I photographed one flying quite a while ago. Not sure what kind it was. But these two sat so nice for me as I was walking along the road underneath them.
At first I went out without my camera for my morning walk. Which I had told myself many times to not do that. So these two landed in a tree in front of me first when I did not have a camera. I continued my walk and they landed in another tree above me.
So I stopped and said, “Fine, I am going to go get my camera and you two better still be here when I get back. ” As I was saying it to them.
Usually they don’t do what I ask them to do, but this time they were still there. It is early morning so they have a warm glow to them from the sun just coming up and then to get a pair of them is quite a treat for me to add to my bird count.
Have a great weekend.

Beautiful photos! Here in Nevada we have a variety of hawks and bald eagles flying around and I’m never able to catch such a great shot! Love your blog!
Thank you very much Danielle, yes hawks are hard to photograph, they usually don’t sit still for us.
Thank you very much

Great hawk photos.
Thank you Peter
A grand adventure, Sandra, and fabulous capture of this pair. Now you will be looking for them everywhere.
Thank you Ellen, yes I will be seeing them everywhere now 🙂
Beautiful!
Thank you very much 😊
Nice lighting!
They are quite handsome.
They decided it was their day to shine so they took your words to heart! Yes, the day you don’t carry the camera, you see something fabulous. I have come home three times from Council Point Park to get the camera because I didn’t take it that morning.
I know, I just need to take it every time. Just in case 🙂
I say that when I’ve gone back home to get the camera, then end up doing it again.
Cool! At first I thought they were doves, due to their body shape.
Being in a dense city, I usually only see hawks sitting on freeway light poles watching for rodents in the groundcover.
That is pretty cool they are in the cities. Plenty of food for them there as well.
There used to be one on my block. Fortunately,my back yard was too small for it to catch cats!
Yes, that would be horrible to get one of the cats, they do take a few squirrels when they can as well.
A magnificent pair of hawks! Obviously, they wanted to have their images taken by you.
I think so, I was so surprised they were still there when I went back.
They are beautiful, Sandra!
They really are and to see two of them like this right above me was a treat.
I think they wanted you to take their picture, since they apparently followed you from tree to tree. 😉
I am thinking that as well. I hardly ever see two together like that. 😊
Great shots Sandra, Hawks are hard to get. Love the morning glow. I think the best pictures come when one is an opportunist (and running to get camera).
Yes, I thought for sure they would be gone when I got back. It was a nice surprise to see them there. 😊
These are great. Where are they at? 🤣😎🙃
I took those over in Eastern Alabama, 😊
Wonderful ! 💙💙💙💙💙🙏
Thank you very much Francine 😊
So glad they listened. Great shots. 😊
Thank you very much 😊
Very cool! They were hoping the paparazzi would be coming by.
I think so, they were sitting there so pretty and all.
Beautiful capture!
Thank you very much 😊
