Purple and Blue

Purple and Blue

Purple and Blue, the light makes all the difference. I have photographed this White winged dove a few times now and this is the first time I noticed the purple color of the feathers around its neck. I made it down to the bird blind just as the sun was coming up.

Amazing what we can see if we sit still long enough to really see things. Having the patience to wait until the Light shows up makes all the difference.

  1. It is the nuances like this that makes birding so much fun – even if the sun doesn’t give you a new perspective with a delicate sheen or unseen hue, the lens will always give you a new experience to enjoy.

    1. Yes. And I don’t always see all these colors with the naked eye. It is not until we look at our footage later, when the surprise comes.

  2. Beautiful Sandra – it looks like a totally different bird with the purplish colors … I never realized a dove’s beak was so long and pointy.

    1. Lol, yes everything around us is a lesson isn’t it. Sometimes I like to just let my mind go blank..not always easy to do though. 😊

        1. Guess what Mr.Ohh, I just spent about 2 hours down at the bird blind here at the campground we are at, it is home to the largest squirrel out of all the squirrels here. We are leaving tomorrow and I had to get just a few more photos of him, you know I was thinking of you on this little mission. 😊 have a great weekend.
