Part of the Farm
Part of the Farm – My niece not only has horses, pigs are a part of the farm during the summer months. Her two children and their cousins show pigs, sheep and rabbits at their local fair. Which we are going to this year.
It is a great way for children to learn how to take care of animals and the importance of feeding and grooming them, even pigs. I don’t know much about pigs, but it is fun to watch the children work with them and take care of them.
They are a very curious animal, I was standing at their fence trying to get a photo and this one kept wanting to get close, looking for more food I reckon.

Interesting as I thought pigs were just pink, not two-toned like this one.
And brown ones.
I’ve never seen brown ones. I need to go to the Heritage Park Petting Farm – it’s been years since I’ve been there.
Great photo, Sandra ! 🧡🧡🐷🐷🙏
Thank you very much Francine 😊
Pigs are so intelligent. Nice picture, Sandra
Thank you very much Don, I learned a lot about pigs this year from watching the shows. Very fun.
I was in 4H and FFA The Fair is the best and the time to show off all the work done preceeding it
Yes, kids learn a lot on how to have responsibility and care for animals and just enjoy being outdoors in the summer.
Swine was my first project
I showed market beef, and sheep too
My sisters grandchildren showed pigs and sheep this past week. They love it, they don’t have cows, but showed horses as well. I just love small town fairs.
Pigs have big personalities. And they adore and protect their young. My hunch is you experienced and captured both. Thank you for sharing!
You are very welcome, I sure learned a lot about them this year.
