Out For a Walk
Out For a Walk – We headed downtown Columbus to see what we could find next. Like most towns, they have the newer, shopping type areas. Which we try to avoid, it is the old part of town we like to see and Columbus has a beautiful area of old town.
The homes in this area are quite beautiful, with lots of flowers blooming everywhere.
With lots of historical homes, some of which you can go into on certain days that they are doing tours.
Of course a beautiful river walk that we came apon, with this old bridge that does not get used anymore according to the signs saying it may collapse.

I always sigh when I see an official sign for a particular danger – much like the “bum” signs along the highway – don’t waste time on signage FIX IT ha!. I would love to have that iron gating in the first shot, would look great on our haunted trail!
Oh yes, that gate would be perfect. ☺️
I like the stately home that looks like it is straight from the movie “Gone With the Wind”. The bridge and the signs … that surprises me that they don’t have it cordoned off … what if people don’t see the sign? Would this apply to people just climbing onto or walking onto the bridge and could get injured or just vehicular traffic?
I know, nothing was blocked off. Only signs saying to watch out. So strange.
I hope they are not surprised if something bad happens – hopefully not!

Thank you very much Francine ☺️ 😊
Very nice, Sandra. That bridge is something else. Perhaps they don’t want to tear it down because it was so expensive to build? Perhaps they should hang a copy of the ten commandments on it like they do in their public schools? Maybe they should ask Trump for his advice on what to do with it?
Yes to all the above. I am not sure, I imagine it would cost money and maybe their town is low on their budget. I will have to ask them next time we go through their. ☺️
I know Mississippi ranks very low in education, health care, and other assorted things we take for granted and I guess also in bridge repair.
So cool. Did you get a reason they’re not refurbing or demoing that bridge. Seems a bit silly to put up a sign and leave it at that. 🤣😎🙃
I never did ask anyone. I should have.
Ohh well. Signs are cheaper 🤣😎🙃
Lol, yes😀
Wow… I’d anticipate more barriers around a bridge that lay collapse!
That is what I thought to. People walking all around it.
