Off the Grid for a Month

Off the Grid for a Month

Off the Grid for a Month, Hello all, todays post is an update on where we are at the moment. We are traveling west and will be camping in an area with very limited or no internet until mid March.

We will be camping at places that are like boon docking they call it. No water hookups or electricity at the camp sites. We will be breaking out the solar panels for sure. I scheduled post until mid March and hope you enjoy my photos. They are the last of my photos from the gulf coast.

I will interact with comments if internet allows and I just want to say thank you for all your compliments and comments that you write to me on this blog. I really appreciate it.

Todays photos are a little bit of what will be coming up after we get back on the grid.

  1. This looks like a stunning place to see! Incidentally, I also decided to (consciously) go off-the-grid for the whole month of March to focus on my creative projects. Safe travels! 🙂

  2. Enjoy! I’ve been mostly offline for three weeks, catching up now and again when I find internet. I’m on the coast of the Sea of Cortez in a small town.

    1. Same here Emilie, internet I scarce and when it comes in I take a look at it but it doesn’t seem to last long where we are. I can be typing and then it is gone. Enjoy your trip as well.

    1. Thank you Brian, we will. We head out on Friday and the internet just keeps getting slower. I can’t use my computer at all where we are now. Only the phone, what little service it has. 😊

  3. Safe travels to you and your husband Sandra – enjoy the sights and document them for us to vicariously enjoy along with you at a later date.

    1. Thank you, the next 4 weeks we will be off the grid. They say there is slow internet to none where we are going,, It is very slow right now I know that. 😊

    1. Thank you very much RJ, I have lived in the mid west my entire life. This is like a new world out west. Amazing animals, landscapes, it is a true gift from above what He made for us to see. Thank you RJ. 😊

    1. Thank you very much Tom, that is what it feels like to be away from our old routines. Freedom is never ending in the walls of faith.

      1. I also meant, in a funny way, that you’ll be free from the tentacles of the Interwebs. 😄

As you replied, it brings freedom to be away of routine. Have a very Blessed and Safe journey.

        1. Thank you Tom, I agree, that just dawned on me. The world wide web, the web is like a spiders web, you can get stuck in it and not come back out. I might have to make a post about that, 😉, blessings to you as well Tom.

        2. My husband is laughing, he said don’t I know that is what they meant by naming it the , www, I said nope. It never crossed my mind until now. 😅

  4. Will miss your posts, though they say, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder!” Bless you in your travels. Here in Ohio it is 9 degrees this morning! Brr

    1. Brrr, yes it is nice to be in the south this winter. I have scheduled post to go on line while we are off line, 😊 I just won’t be able to reply back. You know what it was like to not have internet. Getting back to nature like it was when we were younger. 😊

  5. Enjoy the continuation of your trip. Hopefully no major flaws in “basic comfort”. We are certainly looking forward to the stories to follow, as soon as the opportunity to do so again. Stay safe Sandra and enjoy!

    1. Thank you Rudi, I appreciate that. It is a new world out here, so different then anything I have ever seen in my lifetime. We leave on Friday into desert type conditions and so looking forward to it. See you when we come back out. 😊

    1. Thank you very much Jo, my husband has been wanting to do this for years. He knows how to keep everything working with solar power and I have collected some of our favorite movies over the years and have them with for movie night on those bad weather days. We stiff have a DVD player. We don’t stream anything or Netflix, to expensive for all that.😊
