Northern Flicker
Northern Flicker – capturing birds in flight photography is a way to see birds in a entire new light. I did not notice all the yellow on these birds until I saw this photo I took of this gorgeous bird.

You can definitely tell the sub-species easier when they are in flight – this yellow=shafted has very bright flight shafts vs the red-shafted which …no surprise have the red shafts. Nice flight capture.
