Next to the Nature Park

Next to the Nature Park

Next to the Nature Park, it is next to the Savannah river, right off from the North Atlantic Ocean. So as one looks towards the left anywhere from within in the park. You will see the Georgia Ports Authority Shipping Container Yards.

Literally yards and yards of shipping containers. But, one will see places like this all along the coast. I forgot about them as we drove deeper into the preserve and started seeing birds.

I saw this very interesting lone tree along one of the waterways. I had to edit it a bit, by cutting out the shipping containers in the background.

  1. Amazing the contrast between a nature sanctuary and the big container ships which amaze me just how much they carry in such an unconstructed fashion, like huge Lego blocks.

  2. I went to Savannah on a couple of business trips, two trips to Hilton Head, and a trip to a Scottish Highland Games nearby, but I never went into the nature preserve.

    1. There is so much to see around that area. The traffic was a bit of a nightmare getting there. Savannah has grown so much. But as soon as we pulled into that preserve, it was quiet instantly. 🙂

  3. It’s one of the things that has always bothered me about the Savanah WMA. The Whistling Ducks don’t mind though 😃. Great place since it had been destroyed by a hurricane and closed for maybe 6 years, but they spent the time and money to rebuild for the wildlife.
