What a beautiful serie of these amazing birds.
Thank you very much Ronald ๐
Gorgeous captures! Not easy to freeze hummingbirds in flight.
Thank you, that is so true, it takes a lot of shots to get a couple of good ones for sure. ๐
Wow, the colors on this hummingbird are just exquisite Sandra. Sorry to read they are already winging their way to a warmer climate.
Yes, I have not seen one in a couple of weeks and yesterday 2 showed up. They must be the stragglers falling behind.
I was surprised to read on my local Wild Birds Unlimited page I follow on Facebook, that our hummingbirds are getting ready to leave, so to ensure your feeders are filled … I think it’s a bit early for ours though (especially since it is stinkin’ hot today).
Amazing detail! If I blink my jeweled visitors skitter off.
Thank you Pam, I know what you mean, I have to sit very still with my camera ready ๐
My hummers are extra sensitive, it seems.
Those are AMAZING!!
Thank you very much, I do love seeing them in the summer.
Wow! These are exquisite!
Thank you very much ๐
Awesome pictures, Sandra. Excellent work. Thank you!
You are very welcome RJ, thank you and have a wonderful weekend.
Gorgeous pictures. Thank you for sharing.
You are very welcome, thank you.
So beautiful, Sandra. I don’t know how you ever got that close up shot, but it’s remarkable!
Thank you Kellye, I have flowers and a feeder on my porch and they fly right next to me sometimes, especially if I have a red hat on. They get used to me after awhile. That is what I love about bird photography. You have to just get out there with them and sit patiently.
Delicate!
Thank you Marland.
You’re welcome
Very beautiful!
Thank you very much ๐
I love hummingbirds and I confess I feel that way about most nature, LOL. I admire so much the close up pictures you share.
Hello David, hope you are doing well. I check your blog weekly to see if you are writing again. Praying you are healthy and doing well. Yes it is hard not to like pretty much all animals. ๐
Can you tell if any are regular visitors? Have you named them? My daughter would name the hummies she saw out our window. After a while, you could actually tell them apart. Pudge was her favorite.
I have one that I recognize, it has a whitish spot behind its right eye. Otherwise I have not been able to tell the others apart. I only get 4 every year. I can’t imagine the feeders where they show dozens of them flying around. It would be cool to see though.
We will sometimes have 8-10 buzzing between our three feeders. And one poor bird trying to defend all of them at the same time.
Your photos are exquisite, Sandra. I love the hummingbirds so much. I often work outside on my patio, and the hummingbirds hover in front of my face while I talk to them.
Thank you very much Mary, I do the same thing. I sit on my porch and talk to them. They are such a beautiful little bird.
Hmmm…..
Lol. ๐, humming

Absolutely STUNNING, Sandra!!! I KNOW what it takes to photograph these birds! Yours are spectacular! I actually have pictures of hummingbirds up today and they are not as great as yours. Wow!! Spectacular captures!!
Thank you so much Amy. Yes, it is difficult isn’t it. I throw a lot of photos away trying to get that one good one. They are so fast. Have a wonderful day Amy, ๐

Thank you very much ๐
How gloriously wonderful Sandra, they are so cute and such amazing little creatures.
They are, when you think of how far they go for migration, it is quite something.
Beautiful Sandra, the way you managed to freeze these moments. It makes sense that these photos are among your favourites. Nice work (as always by the way).
Greetings and have a nice day.
Thank you very much Rudi, yes it takes a lot of photos to get that one good one. Plus a lot of time sitting near them for the close up.
